Hugo is an experienced Robotics and Coding Educator with over 4 years teaching experience. He received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from National University of Singapore (NUS) and master’s degree in computer science & engineering from Hungary.
His past projects range from mechanical designs, such as building quadcopters to AI applications, such as developing image recognition software. Some of his awards include Gold Medal in Asian Physics Olympiad, Silver Medal in International Physics Olympiad, NUS Faculty of Engineering Dean’s List, and Asian Congress of Fluid Mechanics Book Prize.
Hugo has been coaching robotics for students ranging from primary students to upper Secondary students, using VEX IQ and VEX V5. Some of his previous students have received awards in VEX National & International Competitions. He is proficient in teaching coding in C++, Python and Scratch with a direct and relatable approach.
He also has in depth experience with coaching students in learning 3D modelling software, such as SolidWorks and Autodesk Fusion. His teaching philosophy focuses on self-enquiry, encouraging students to learn through guided questioning.
